Our girl - scrapbook page

Here's a scrapbook page I made recently using an old Simply Scrappin' kit I got off clearance a while back. I used a bunch of rub-ons and lots of little rhinestones to make this page! The color is a bit off, but you get the idea. I have a few other pages I'll share with you soon, too!

H is for Halleigh

As my scanner almost always does, it really gives great detail to the forefront objects and blurs the objects that are just a centimeter behind it....needless to say, this picture is not this blurry in real life!
Here is a little project I made that was less than $3 overall to make! I bought the frame from Michael's for $1 and painted it pastel yellow. Then, I took a sheet of paper from the Sweet Pea paper stack and cut it to place over the frame. I cut out the center of the sheet to leave room for the opening and glued the paper down with Tombow.
For the decoration, I first cut a swirl out of a sheet of Pretty in Pink with my big shot. Next, I took a chipboard letter H and dabbed it in VersaMark. I sprinkled Heat and Stick powder all over that and heated it up with my heat gun. Finally, I sprinkled chunky pink glitter on that and re-heated it to set the glitter in the glue.
For my final step, I used Crystal Effects to glue the small circles onto the swirls - it seems to hold the 3-dimensional objects in place a little bit better than just glue dots.

Halleigh's project, my project

Since it's 10 degrees outside and snow on the ground, Halleigh and I have been making little projects each day. Here was today's project, inspired by Andrea Walford's March Madness class.

My version uses some retired DSP and a new hostess set.

Accessories: Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon, sponges, Modern label punch, stampin' dimensionals, scallop trim border punch, blender pens, rhinestones

Here's Halleigh's little masterpiece....well, hey, at least she matched the hairbow to the dress, that's pretty good for a 3 year old! She says her little polka dots are flowers that the lambs are going to eat....Anyway, hers is made mostly from scraps I have had for years!

Here is Halleigh's little Valentine card - I let her pick all of the images out for her card - she wanted this elephant and the raccoon....not a common set of friends in the world, but hey, that's the way 3 year olds think!

Sharing your Sorrow card

We had a few deaths in families of our school staff this past week, so I thought I would make a card for each of the families to share my concern. Here is the card I made. Everything is retired except for the stamp set.

Quickie card

Here is a super quick card to make for a customer or a friend. Most of the supplies came from the clearance rack (my favorite place) on my stampin' up website http://valeriedurham.stampinup.net

I know all of the papers are retired - I don't remember the name of the DSP, I just remembered loving it. The colors are soft sky, purely pomegranate, and whisper white. There is a touch of dark pink fine glitter in the thanks stamp and a little flower I found super cheap that matched perfectly.

Busy week, but finally a quick little card!

Okay, to be honest, I think this card is just a little too plain, but my husband really likes it - not too much frill to it (I guess he won't like his valentine card, lol!)
Anyway, I made this in 5 minutes or less! I used one of the overlays, 2 real red brads and a real red card base. Finally, I matted the overlay on a regal rose piece and cut the corners with the ticket punch - it was that easy!!!
