Playing Doctor

I have really enjoyed finding the Frosted Designs website.  I saw this sketch today and really like all the possibilities it offered.  So I ran with it - maybe a little farther than I was supposed to, but it is the basic idea.  That is the purpose of a sketch, anyway, is to be a starting point!

These pics of my daughter playing doctor with her poppy were just too cute to resist, so they were perfect for this page!  I stuck with only two pictures, I just couldn't fit another one in there.  I used a floral ribbon from American Crafts as a border between the pictures and the strips below.  The papers are the Baja Breeze pieces from the Nursery Suite, red glimmer paper, and a scrap from the Candy Cane Lane paper pack.   (Would you believe those were all scraps?)  I decide to frill up the bottom even more by alternating strips of red glimmer paper with the border of candy cane lane paper.  I made a fringe with the paper and then spritzed the entire fringe with Cherry Lemonade Glimmer Mist.  I finished it off with a vintage cut out from Pretty Little Studio, some letter stickers from Making Memories, and a couple of flowers from Jolee's. 

According to my DH, it is just a little too frilly....ah, well, it's my page.  I like it!

Digi stamp day

It's digi week over at Stamp Something , so I decided to use this little princess from Sassy Studio Designs, one of their sponsors for this week.  I had a little bit of leftover scraps from yesterday's layout, so I used a card layout from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue and created this card with it.

I used a Blushing Bride base and Very Vanilla paper for the base of the image.  I colored the image with my Copic markers.  

I punched the left side with my scallop trim border punch and added some turquoise raffia ribbon with a Jolee's pebble jewel right in the center.  I finished it off with a little tab from the sticker sheet that was leftover in my pack.

Get Your Sketch On!

Well, I can't help it....every time I go check out the GYSO website, I always sing inside my head that Missy Elliot song (changing the lyrics), "Getcha' sketch on, Getcha' sketch on....getcha' getcha' getcha' getcha' sketch on!"  Yes, I know I'm crazy.  Some of the kids in our youth group used to tease me because they said I had a song for everything.  It's true! 

Anyway, so here is my little page that I created with this sketch (although I think my picture is slightly crooked now that I see it on here!).  Anyway, I had a few pieces from a CTMH kit that were left, so I decided to try and make one last set of pages from it. 

And I had a few leftovers, so I made a little scalloped square card using my scallop square die cut.  I actually had another image prepared for it, but it was too big, so I made this image using my Springtime Wishes stamp and little girl image.  I added a few pink rhinestones and a little flower pin into the pop dot behind the sentiment for finishing touches.  Very quick and easy peasy!

Aspiring Petrinarian!

I made this layout for our aspiring petrinarian.  At least, that's what she says she's going to be this month!  She loves to play dress up and pretend she is the Dr., taking care of us or dolls or animals. 

I thought the little vintage girl tag of the little girl taking care of her doll was perfect for this page.  I also decided to make some matching rosettes with strips of material leftover from the Christmas catalogue - I love that it's really not Christmasy!  And the paper looks great with some red glimmer paper punched out as flowers!

I added a few red shimmer letters, a floral paper clip, and a vintage button from making memories and a big blue pebble from Jolee's Boutique on top of the journaling tag from Pretty Little Studio

Those little leprechauns should be out making mischief soon!

Liz Qualman Sketch

Well, I just found out that I am a winner at Sketches in Thyme for the week!

That's pretty exciting!  It could only have been better if I was also the winner of a Glimmer Mist prize pack for the month!  Hee Hee! 

Anyway, so you know me.....I am an admitted sketch junkie.  So, of course, when I find a site called "My Little Sketch Book" by the infamous Liz Qualman, I'm all eyes!  So here is a sketch she posted earlier this week for a publication called ScrapStreet. 

And here's my take on the sketch.  I had some kind of random pics of my little girl being her typical self - acting silly, making up songs, and pretending to play the guitar.What can I say?  They were perfect for this layout!  So, what better title than My Song Bird - with a cute little owl, of course!

Here's is a closeup of the left side of the layout.  You'll notice that I used some of the Greenhouse Gala DSP at the bottom and actually cut the zigzag pattern out to create a different type of border on my paper.  Kind of reminds me of Charlie Brown!  Anyway, I added a little strip of Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon tied on the edge with a little bit of linen thread. 

The letters are puffy letters made by making Memories. 

The flower and journaling embellishments are all from Basic Grey.

Here's my cute little owl with blingy eyes.  I just love that punch!  Whoooooo can resist?

Scrap FIT Workout #39- Glitter & Glam

With this layout we want to show off our Glitter and Glam! There are many ways to make things sparkle – glitter, embossing, paint, stickles and more! Now for the glam – lets make this a fun feminine layout, you make it soft and fully or bright and blingy! You Go Girl!

Here's a closeup of some of my glitz and glam.  I added some Jolee's Bling to the Jenni Bowlin journaling card where the holes usually are.  Underneath, you can see some really wide sheer blue gauze ribbon.  My friend gave it to me and I thought it was just really pretty, so I tied it up with some ribbon from Making Memories.

Here's another closeup of my blingy edge.  I used Red Glimmer Paper to create some stars from my Stars #2 die cut.  I also punched out some other stars from Tempting Turquoise DSP and Night of Navy scraps.  I added a few more of those Jolee's Bling on top, too.  There are a few chipboard buttons from Jenni Bowlin thrown in and threaded with Tempting Turquoise scraps.  Finally, there are a few images from the Starring You stamp set that I colored with markers and filled with punches and bling.  I added (YES!) more glitter around the edges.  And, of course, the title was "Sparkle" made with sparkly letters!  Now, if that's not enough glitz and glam....
