Hodgepodge layout with sketch #2 from Kelly Purkey's class

Well, I have to say, I think this is the only fall layout that I used the traditional black/orange color scheme on.  I like how it turned out okay, though.  My idea took a while to come together.  I used a hodgepodge of stuff.  I started with some leftover Basic Grey paper from the CK convention a month ago.  I added a layer of Basic Black paper and took strips of paper from my Studio Calico kit - I'm thinking it is Cosmo Cricket.  I used some more scrap pieces of Studio Calico paper from my class and added 3 sets of letter stickers.  Studio Calico, Mariposa (can't think of the brand), and Fabric Thickers from American Crafts.

I added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds to my crow so it was dolled up a bit and put a Prima flower on top of the Basic Grey sticker flower.

And the next layout is.....oh, it's Halleigh - she wanted to be the next scrapbook page I took a pic of!  What do you think?  I think it's the best layout yet!

Studio Calico Sunday Sketch

Here's a sketch from my own Kentucky Proud, Studio Calico!  The best part about living only an hour and a half away is that I get my kit the day after it ships!  So I was already able to make the Sunday Sketch using my new kit!  Yippee!

Look at these gorgeous colors of Crate Paper.  So soft and pretty - irresistable!  They were perfect for my daughter at her dance class.  I used a combination of the Island Floral die cut and the Fancy Flower punch to create the flowers for this page.  After cutting them out, I used my distressing tool kit to curl up the edges of the flowers and give them dimension.

Here's a closeup of the flowers.  The red flower in the center is from Making Memories.  On the tag I started with some letter stickers I have had for years.  I spritzed Mr. Huey Lemonade and Cherry Limeade Glimmer Mist on and then took off the stickers, leaving the masked word.  I then used some Studio Calico stickers for Dancing.  I added a crown trinket from the mini catalogue to the tag. 

Finally, for the butterflies - the small yellow ones are Jenni Bowlin studio, the wood veneer are studio calico and I stamped the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp on top and spritzed with the same mists.

Another layout with sketch #1 from Kelly Purkey's class

Well, I've almost used up the kit I won from Lucky Girl Crafts!  Here's another little layout I made using the first sketch in the Sketchbook 3 class.

I started with a base of American Crafts patterned paper, a layer of Real Red, and some layers of Echo Park paper.  I re-used the packaging from that gorgeous Prima bling yesterday and added a few little vintage pieces/journaling spots from Pretty Little Studio.  I also put some pom pom trim at the top.  To finish everything off, I used the last little portion of black rhinestone strip to make a beaded rectangle around the word Documented.

Busy weekend

I've been busy this weekend, as you can see!  Here are several cards and a layout I made this weekend using lots of scraps - trying to clean the desk some.....a neverending process.

This top card used a design I found on Papercrafter's Library.  I used the Nature's Walk stamp set and my Stampin' Write markers to stamp the images.  I had a scrap of Coordinations paper that I sanded and smeared Faded Denim Distress ink over for the background. Otherwise, there's Night of Navy striped grosgrain ribbon and an antique brad on top. 

My pic is a little crooked, but I used the 1st sketch from the Sketchbook 3 class that I won for this card.  Again, I used all scraps for this card - I stamped the butterfly from the love and caring stamp set and colored the image with my Copics.  I used the scallop trim border punch for the edge of the Bermuda Bay scrap. 

Same stamp set and markers, different scraps of paper!  Quick and easy after a long day yesterday.

And finally, another stamp from the Nature's Walk set.  I colored the images with the Copics, but I decided to cut them out and pop them up to make them stand out.  I used an old rub on from a summer mini a few years ago for the sentiment.   

Here is a layout that I made using the first sketch from the Sketchbook 3 class that I won.

 I made a sweet little layout from my Lucky Crafts kit that I won.   I like my title - I decided to go with "Tink or Treat" to go with the Tinkerbell at Halloween thought.  Cute, eh?

  I think the circle piece is Bo Bunny.  I spritzed a doily with Bluegrass Mr. Huey from Studio Calico and added a few flowers and buttons.  I finished is off with a gorgeous swirl from Prima.  

Blinging Birthday

For my hubby's 40th birthday I made lots of silly signs and decorated the youth building as a surprise for him.  This page is a picture of him on his birthday back in October.  I used Real Red textured cardstock and the Celebrations DSP that is really distressed.  I added a bunch of various items from my stash as well as my Lucky Girl Crafts kit.  And a little black bling.  The part up by the banner is actually a straight line from the fall mini catalogue, I just curved the edges as I laid it down..  The arrow is from Kaisercraft (I think).  I believe the banner parts are Jenni Bowlin studio and the tickets might be My Mind's Eye.  The material tag is K &and Company.   Just a hodgepodge of stuff.   

I also had this great and funny cake made for him by one of our friends.  He thought it was great (thankfully!!!)

Anyway, I broke my camera that week, so it didn't take any good pictures.  Thankfully my friend who made it always takes pics and loads them up on Facebook.  Ahh, the wonders of facebook.  Now to get this printed and make a page for more of our silliness!  :)

Card mojo going

Amazingly enough, I have been doing pretty well getting my pics scrapped lately...although I'm sure that just saying that will jinx me! 

Anyway, I got in a card mood this week and here are just two of the cards I have made. 

The top card is a stamp set I got from the Sale-a-Bration - I think it is Bear Hugs.  It is so adorable.  I traded supplies with an online friend - Big Shot items for Copic markers (I know....shoot me!  I am in love with these things!   SU, can you sell these?!?!?!).   Anyway, so I used the new toys to color the baby bear.   So sweet.  All of the other pieces were scraps.  I just had to trim them up.  I just kind of looked at the scraps and put the card together.  It turned out pretty well for 30 minutes or less!

I got the idea for this card from Papercrafter's Library.  I again used a bunch of scraps to create the pieces of the card.  The hardest part was trying to get those lines for the baker's twine.  P.S.  If you like Baker's twine like I do, you'll be happy with the new mini catalogue - catch my drift!??!  Cute little thank you card I thought.

One of my favorite embellishments to make are homemade flowers!  Flowers can be made out of paper, ribbon, chipboard, punches, fabric or anything!!!!  Lets see a layout with a wonderful handmade flower (or more) on it made by you! 

So, my lovely readers, here is a kraft gift bag that was given to me at Christmas.  I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to useful supplies.  If I can reuse it, it is going in the stash!  So, here is how I re-used my gift bag. 

I cut a square from Cherry Cobbler as well as another square from the retired vintage Christmas paper.  I adhered these two pieces together and added some vintage button brads in each corner.  I used a gorgeous red satin ribbon from a box of Godiva chocolate (that didn't last very long!!!) to add a dainty bow around this piece. 

Now, here is a closeup of the flower.  I started with a doily for the base and then cut several sets of flowers with my Fun Flowers die cut.  I used Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla (sprized with Cherry Limeade Glimmer Mist), retired material from the Christmas catalogue, and some cheap brown material that is super thin for the layers. 

I used about 2 flowers for each layer for a total of 8 layers.  I then very carefully poked a hole through all of those layers (it was pretty thick) and sewed an Always Artichoke button on using Linen Thread. 

I really loved the look of the flower, but it was a bit too big for my scrapbook pages, so I thought it would make this kraft gift bag all dolled up and ready to give as a gift!  It doesn't even have to be for Christmas!
