Look Up to Father

Well…this picture looks a little blurry now!  So sorry about that!  I was inspired to create this card from one I saw on Ilina Crouse’s blog.  I loved the simplicity and manly look of the card.  The daddy in this house can’t stand to receive frilly cards!  The more simple the better for him (party pooper!)

We made this card in our May club meeting, so since we had a great turnout I needed another piece of paper.  I just grabbed a scrap of So Saffron from the scrap basket and added it to this card.  I thought it made a really nice addition to the card.

And….of course….I just had to see how the new Blendabilities markers looked with this stamp set.  Amazing, of course!  This card uses the Old Olive markers and the brown marker from the skin tones marker set.

Blended Bloom and Blendabilities

I had another card using this stamp set and my beautiful new Blendabilities, but I gave it away without taking a pic first!  (Gasp!)

I am honestly so excited about the new Blendabilities markers we carry – I cannot wait for them to become available for customers!  I will certainly have a class as soon as they are available!  They are so much fun to color with – they blend so beautifully and just look amazing!

So…enough chatter, right?

This card uses some of the Everyday Adventure paper in the pack – the colors just pop!  The blendabilities markers come in packs of three for seamless coloring and shading.  The card above uses the Coastal Cabana markers.  Did you notice the matching rhinestones?  Yes!  You can color rhinestones with the markers!!!!

And another card using the Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler blendabilities markers.  Very rich colors.  I really love the way these colors show the shading.  Now – something that you may or may not know is how much they will bleed through your paper.  They are meant to bleed through – it means you have done a good job saturating your paper with color….but if you don’t like that….you might not want to color directly onto your card!  It will show through to the other side. 

Scrapbook pages and Project Life

Here is the scrapbook page we made at our last club meeting in May.  I used a color block look with some retiring quatrefoil paper.  I also had some paper flowers and journaling spots from the clearance rack.  Simple and easy!

I used more of the same supplies to create a page using some of the new Project Life journaling spots.  This card comes out of the Everyday Adventure Project Life card pack.   I love these cards because they are two sided – for instance, this card is probably the same design but horizontal on the back.  Also, these cards are great to use as accents for cards!  I am so thrilled to have Project Life as part of our Stampin’ Up products this year!!!!  Yippee!

Something to Say

I made this card also for my catalogue premiere.  I used the stamp set, Something to Say.  I love this stamp set – it has a little something for the outside and the inside of the card!  It also includes stamps that match the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I am so much more likely to use those stamps and coordinating punches when they are simply included with a stamp set and not separate! 

Anyway, the new Moonlight paper pad uses lots of new in colors, like Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.   It is full of lots of masculine patterns, so I thought this would make a great baby boy card. 

And we can’t forget the inside – who wants a gorgeous card on the outside and a naked card on the inside?! 

A Patriotic Work of Art

When I went to the Stampin’ Up Catalogue Premiere I got the stamp set Work of Art.  I love the versatility of this stamp set.  While it looks like a bunch of blobs – lines and squares – the possibilities are endless!   For instance, I created this patriotic card for my own catalogue premiere.  As you can see, it is one layer – all stamping.  I just stamped the lines in real red, masking off the sides at the top.  I stamped the top corner in Marina Mist and then stamped the stars from the Project Life Point & Click stamp set to finish off the card.  How easy is that?  Plus it’s a great card for 4th of July or just to send to a veteran or active soldier to say thank you for their service to our country!

I will refrain from posting all 17 pictures in this post at the same time!  You can look through the album if you would like to get an idea of our Monsters, Inc birthday party.  Our son just adores Monsters.  In fact, he just finished watching the movie again….for the gazillionth time!  We did a fun Monster party complete with a homemade monster cake and life sized balloon of Mike W!  We had lots of fun just being silly and letting kids be kids!
