2 more challenges!

For the first time ever, I actually have all of the colors in Kristina Werner's color challenge! So I combined the colors with this sketch by Makeesha Byl of Australia to make birthday cards for my two sisters-in- law and my mother-in-law.
The greatest thing about these cards is the reason that neither of the cards are exactly the same. They are completely made by using scraps out of my newly re-organized scrap pile.

The birthday hats are stamped with Old Olive craft ink and then embossed with clear powder. The old olive paper strip on the left side is embossed using the Sizzix texture boards.

Halleigh's birthday card

Well, after the birthday cake took 2 1/2 hours to bake...I gave up on waiting on it to cool down enough to ice after 40 minutes! I decided

to make Halleigh's birthday card instead. It's funny - I'm using the silver cording and Dazzling Diamonds glitter out of the Holiday Collection...again! I liked the idea of making a little banner out of the hats, so I dazzled them up and added a few stampin' dimensionals to make them stand out. Just another card out of scraps! Happy birthday, darling!

Halleigh's birthday

Since Halleigh's birthday is coming up, I decided to use my Party Hearty set to create the party inviations. I love how I made my own patterned paper using my Stampin' Wheel with the Baroque Border.

Party Hearty at our Open House!

Here is the card we will be making at the open house at Oak Hill Elementary on Wednesday afternoon. We will begin at 3:30 if you want to come. This set uses the birthday set, "Party Hearty" and the colors Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turqoise, and Gable Green. The first picture is the front of the card, the second is of the inside of the card. I love how this set is not too girly, too!

P.S. - All the birthday sets are going to be on sale for 20% off if you make a purchase of $20 or more during the month of October!
