Card inspired by Papercrafts

I saw a similar, much brighter card than this card in a Papercrafts magazine months ago and thought, I need to do this with the Notably Ornate stamp set!  And there it sat for months....until last night.  I'm not totally sure I like it, but it has the same idea.

Accessories:  buttons, oval punch, sponge dauber, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, gold gel pen, pearls

Quick tag

This was a quick and easy use up scraps tag.  I used all retired stuff on here except for the new Tasteful Trim diecut.  Love that die.  Stamp set was the First Day set.  I'll have another scrapbook layout to share with you tomorrow.  Got to get to bed now!

Sketch-a-thon has begun!

The Sketch-a-thon has begun at Sketches for All!  It's not too late to get started - here's the first sketch:

And here's my take on the sketch. 

The paper is from the Nursery Suite as well as some retired fall paper from last year.   I came up with a Regal Rose/Peach Parfait/Chocolate Chip color scheme for the fall theme of the sketch-a-thon.  I used some embellishments by Making Memories and this layout was done fairly quickly with the help of the sketch!  I used a button for my "O" since I was out - It was just the right size!!

Another journal entry

Here is my second journal entry - a look at the creative things I find in myself.   Same products overall were used.  I used some glimmer mist to spray the journal spots and the flowers.  I also used Versamark and Irridescent Ice on the title and the butterfly bullets for the journal spots.

Believe in yourself journal entry

I won a participation contest, so it helped me pay for the Artist in You class at the Sunny Stampin' room.  One of the challenges was to reflect on your own barriers to your creativity.  For me, my biggest barrier is my lack of self-esteem and confidence in myself.  I never think anything I do is good enough.  I hardly ever enter my projects into contests unless they are random drawings because I figure I won't win anyway.  Don't get me wrong - I am NOT a negative person....unless it comes to complimenting myself - I just don't do that.  I don't know why I am this way - I just am.  So this journal page allows the truth to be revealed for what it is.

New journal - hoping to bloom some artistry!

I made this little journal using one of those composition notebooks you find at the beginning of school for 50 cents.  I had some leftover Sweet Pea DSP that I just love and still enjoy using.  I used the Rough Type letters and some tiny scraps of paper to make the title.  I accidentally didn't leave enough room on the letter o to punch it out, so I decided to change them to flowers - it made it cuter anyway!  For the image, I used the Great Friend set to make all the butterflies and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on them before making a little trail of pearls for them to follow.  Finally, I topped it all of with a dainty little Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon bow.  Even the hubby liked it!  That makes me happy! 

Christmas hope and new ric rac!

Here is a page I made as a member of the design team at Sketches for All.  I used some retired DSP from last year's mini.  I loved these two pics of my parents with my nephew.   I used the new Paisley Prints stamp set for the hearts and the new sizzix diecut to create the ric rac portions on the page.  The brads are also retired - the buttons and flowers came from my DT friend, Stacy.   Check out the Sketches for All website for some great contests coming soon!  The sketch a thon is open to everyone and there are lots of prizes and RAKS to win!
