Stamp Club Layout

I am super excited about stamp club this coming Saturday!  We are going to be making this layout.  The left side of the page is the one we are making for club, and if you would like to add the right page for an additional $2.50, you are welcome to do so!

Here is a closer look at the page we will be making during club.  It features the Modern Medley DSP and Witches’ Brew washi tape.  The stamp use is Halloween Happiness.  I colored the stamp with my Stampin’ Write markers and cut out the image with my Apothecary Accents framelits.

I added a punch of Silver Glimmer paper with my 1” circle punch.  I don’t think you can see it even in this picture, but I colored the circle Tangerine Tango to add a little orange shading with my Aqua Painter.  It looks more colorful in person!

IMG_1456.JPG (2)

This page is an additional page for $2.50 – it accomodates 2 4X6 pictures and a journaling spot.  The journaling spot comes from the Thankful Tablescape simply created kit.  I wrote my journaling with the white chalk marker.

IMG_1457.JPG (2)

If you come, you are welcome to bring your pictures and add them while you scrap these pages!  My pictures are 4X6 and the smaller pictures I cropped to 2X2”.  You can just put square of DSP, though if you wish not to add pictures!

Six Sided Sampler

I cannot take credit for this card.  I completely cased it from Papercrafter’s Library.  But I was very glad to see this card, because I needed a little inspiration to get that hexagon punch going!  I love this stamp set and punch….I just didn’t like what I was making with it!  So here is my first case….maybe more to come!  Winking smile

Stamps:  Six Sided Sampler

Ink:  Island Indigo, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight

Pedal Praise: My Paper Pumpkin - My Way

IMG_1440.JPG (2)

Can you tell I loved this kit??!!?!?  Loved the bicycle stamp – loved the thank you flag – loved the color scheme and card bases!   Now this is what I call freedom for the My Paper Pumpkin Challenge!

IMG_1426.JPG (2)

Here is the basic card that came with the kit – I followed the instructions in the kit to create these – Hannah made all four of her cards in 20 minutes flat!

IMG_1427.JPG (2)

Now….I get my kit so I can play with it and see what I can do with it…I just check out other people’s ideas and then just let the creative juices flow.  I got this idea from Stamp Your Art Out – I just scored a line down the middle of the front and folded the card base in toward itself.  Here is what is looks like opened up.

IMG_1428.JPG (2)

To get the movement on the bike I just stamped the image on the right and kept scooting the bike back and stamped again until the image was faint.

IMG_1430.JPG (2)

For this card I took a scrap of Bermuda Bay and stamped my Positively Chevron stamp in Illuminate ink – it’s nice and shimmery in real life.

IMG_1432.JPG (2)

And, since I am a scrapbooker first, I just had to make a scrapbook page!!!  On this top page I took the card base and cut it down the middle for photo mats.  The sentiment stamp is from the Feel Goods stamp set.

IMG_1435.JPG (2)

Here is the other side of the page – I punched a few extra Rasberry Ripple chevrons to add some color to my side strip.

IMG_1436.JPG (2)

I just so happened to have a picture of my children from last fall when my daughter was out on her bike – how perfect was that?!  It amazes me how quickly time flies – last year my daughter was on training wheels and my son was in a baby carrier on my chest.  This year she rides without her training wheels and he runs around squealing with delight!

IMG_1441.JPG (2)

And just to use up some scraps, I made these little cards out of the scraps on my table.  The tape at the bottom is actually My Mind’s Eye washi tape – it was really perfect for the extra cards!

Guest Designer: Hannah Vaught

Hannah Vaught has been very busy lately creating some lovely gifts.  I adore this handmade tag for a handmade baby blanket!

Here is the finished blanket:

And she even made a coordinating card to match!  How cute is this!?

I love the clever use of the hexagon punch for this card, too!

This card doesn’t go with the set above, but Hannah made it as well for her son’s 21st birthday – hard to believe how fast these kiddos grow up!

The new chevron punch

IMG_1384.JPG (2)

So, for my first time to play with the chevron punch in the holiday catalogue I just took whatever scraps I had on the desk and used that for a card.  Needless to say, this is not the best card I have ever made, but….I love the chevron punch!!!!

I wasn’t sure from the picture if I would like it or not.  Sometimes these punches look so neat and then are very tedious because the pieces are so tiny to glue….

Not so with the chevron punch!  These chevrons are a great size for scrapbook pages and cards and they make great pieces to glue onto another card or scrapbook page!  For this card I just took scraps of Twitterpated DSP and glued them behind the chevron punch spots.  The stamps are from the My Paper Pumpkin starter kit that you get your first month – I think they are some of my favorite stamps!

Stamps:  Hey there friend (MPP)

Ink:  Basic Grey

Paper:  Baja Breeze, whisper White, Crumb Cake, Twitterpated DSP

Accessories:  Chevron punch, basic rhinestones

Fall Thanks

IMG_1383

I saw a very lovely card by Mary Brown, a.k.a. Stampercamper the other day.  It inspired me to make this very simple but lovely card using my Magnificent Maple stamp.

I simply stamped the leaf in Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke all over the bottom and filled in the empty spots with sponge dauber dots of So Saffron.  I used some Always Artichoke grosgrain ribbon I’ve had for years for a little accent.

Stamps:  Magnificent Maple, Best of Sentiments

Ink:  So Saffron, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze

Paper:  Crumb Cake

Accessories:  Always Artichoke grosgrain ribbon (retired)

Kindergarten no more

IMG_1369.JPG (2)

It seems like just yesterday we attended open house for my daughter to start kindergarten.  My, my how time flies.  Embrace your children, they grow up way too quickly!

I used this old DSP – I can’t remember the name of it since it retired a few years ago, but I have enjoyed using this doily paper for my daughter’s scrapbook pages.  I cut around some of the laser cut doilies to accent the pictures and added a little strip of Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon.  The journaling card is from Pretty Little Studio and the centers of the doilies are from Hobby Lobby – maybe Prima?  I can’t remember!!!

Mosaic Madness Scrapbook pages

IMG_1365.JPG (2)

Pardon the pictures….I’m trying to find my camera and had to use my phone….

Here are the pages I made for scrapbook club the other day.  I made the top page with the club and then added the second page to match.

I used the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper for these pages and Mosaic Madness stamp set for accent pieces.

The pictures are from my daughter’s first day of school last year.  It’s hard to believe it is already a week and a half into the next year!  I think the older I get the faster time flies!

IMG_1367.JPG (2)

Stamps:  Mosaic Madness, It’s a Wrap Occasions

Ink:  Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie

Paper:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Quatrefancy Designer Series Specialty Paper

Accessories:  Pool Party baker’s twine, Quatrefoil punch, Chalk Talk framelits, Pumpkin Pie satin ribbon

Magnificent Maple

IMG_1363.JPG (2)

I cased this card (mostly) from Michelle Zindorf.  When I originally made the card, I was so proud of the images I had created….and then I stamped the sentiment….and then I realized I stamped the sentiment sideways…..

I’m sure that never happens to you!  Winking smile  Well, when those mistakes happen, I just try to think of some way to “fix” my mistake.  In this case, I just decided to stamp the sentiment in every corner….it was supposed to be that way!  See?!

IMG_1364.JPG (2)

Here is the card I created again – I left off the black mat this time and stamped the sentiment correctly the first time!!!  Aren’t you proud of me?  Correctly stamped and another blog post this weekend!

Just in case you’re wondering where I’ve been….school started back.  ‘Nuff said!  Momma is exhausted!

Stamps:  Magnificent Maple, Best of Sentiments

Ink:  Encore Gold and Silver, Staz-On Black, Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie

Paper:  Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories:  Clear Embossing Powder, Gold Leafing pen

Sunny Sponging

IMG_1361.JPG (2)

I CASEd this card from Paper Crafter’s Library.  I just loved the effect.  Then, when I realized exactly how easy it was, I couldn’t wait to make it!

I used three sponges – one for each color and swiped the ink until I was happy with the results.  Then I stamped with StazOn black ink on top of the smudges – very artsy looking and very easy to do!

Stamps:  Feel Goods

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo, Staz On – black

Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight

Accessories:  Basic Rhinestones

Cutie Pie

I can't believe how much this sweet baby of mine is growing!  It seems like just yesterday he was a little bitty baby boy bouncing around on his daddy!  Now he runs all over the place at 17 months!
I loved these pictures of Owens and his daddy playing with him and kissing him - those precious moments don't last long enough, so I try to be the mamarazzi as much as possible!
It's funny - I have scrapbooked for a long time and I go through spurts - sometimes I find my inspiration by trying to emulate and copy the styles of other scrapbookers that are hot, but right now I'm in a keep it simple mode!  Maybe it's because I'm so busy and am only up to about September of last year with my pictures, but hey....I'm getting them in an album slowly, but surely.  I certainly won't be on the cover of a magazine anytime soon, but my kiddos will know that they were loved when they were little!

Paper:  Not Quite Navy, Daffodil Delight, Parker's Lane?  DSP
Accessories:  Candy Dots, journaling spot (?), Thickers (Am. Crafts)

Project Life: August

Project Life 2013-016

It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over already!  I have decided that it doesn’t matter how long my summer break is, it is never going to be long enough to enjoy time with my children!  But, hey, I love my job, so that is a very good thing!

Here are my Project Life 2013 pages for the month of July – just a few highlights – silly moments with the kids, baptism day, our 14th anniversary (and we still did not get a picture of just the two of us!) and a BFF party.  Fun times!

Monogram Sets

I recently made a few monogrammed sets of cards as gifts for people, so I thought I would share some of those.

DSCF6773

One of the reasons I loved this monogram set was because it was relatively easy to make and it looked really nice when it was finished!  I love handmade gifts, but it is hard to motivate myself to make them if they take me days upon days to finish!

DSCF6771

Here is what the inside looks like – I put notecards on the right side and envelopes on the left side.

DSCF6772

And here is an up close look at the notecards.  I used the Label Bracket Punch for the squares.

I will not take credit for this idea – it came from here.  My Chic’n Scratch created this wonderful idea – I just CASEd it!!!

Stamps:  Lovely Letters

Ink:  Riding Hood Red

Paper:  Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Twitterpated DSP

Accessories:  1 1/4” square punch, Scallop edge punch, Label Bracket punch, Riding Hood Red grosgrain ribbon, Crop-a-dile
