2009 calendar

Alas, here it is...my 2009 calendar using the Calendar kit from the mini-catalogue. I, too, like to have calendars that you can add pictures to, so I used the small On Board book to create a horizontal calendar you can display with pictures each month.
If you were planning to take the class, it will have to be postponed until the end of the month since all of the calendar kits are on backorder until the middle of January! The class will be $18 - if you are interested, please email me and let me know so that I can order enough supplies and materials for everyone.
Well, it may not snow here in southern Kentucky, but we can at least dream of the white stuff, can't we? (Now that I say that, we'll probably have a blizzard this year!)New punches, new stamps, new images to love for this month of romance and sweetness!
Mostly stickers and scraps, a flower from the Fresh Cuts set finished this page off in no time!
In hindsight, I think I should have made my bunny all white! Oh, well, next time...I was going to use a different set and realized that the bunny would be perfect for Easter!
I just love this hostess set that reminds us to live life like you mean it. A good set for May.
Ah, the arrival of summer, means lots of sunshine! So here's to summer sun with the image from the God is Love set.
Well, of course, I had to play with my new Sizzix machine again. No stamps necessary with all the different sized stars on the star die-cut! So, it's not quite red, white, and blue, but you get the idea!
My Flight of the Butterfly was a good set for August. We always start back to school, but I didn't want to use apples, so I used the sentiment about change.
September uses a few scraps, a rub-on flower, and the flower from the retired Office Accoutrement set I have. I still love that set!
October uses a few of the images from the Enjoy Every Moment set.
November uses a few more stamps from the Enjoy Every Moment set in some fall colors. I thought it was quite poignant for Thanksgiving.
And the last page! For December, an image from the Fun and Fast Notes set.

Love You Much Valentine Bundle

Finally, I can post these pictures!!! If only you knew how long I've been waiting to share these with you! This is your first sneak peek at the new Stampin' Up catalogue coming out in January. Not only does this bundle include terrific paper, a cute Valentine stamp set, it also includes a coordinating punch! The best part is...it is 20% off until January 31, 2009.

So, as you will see, one night after I received my set on a pre-order, I was home alone waiting for my darling husband to come home from the state football finals...what was I to do? I just had to play with my new toys!
I made a Sweet Sentiments jar in which I made "lollipops" using the stamp set and punch. In the bottom I curled up scraps of paper and wrote some things I love about my dearest husband.

Here is a candle I made using a little tissue paper and wax paper. It was so easy! I just stamped an image on tissue paper, colored in the lines using markers and basically heat embossed it using the wax paper.

And, of course, a gift bag for all of your Valentine goodies...

A little Valentine card for your sweetie...don't you love all the little punches? There are 3 hearts on the punch and they fit perfectly with the stamp in the set!

And one last card I made using a marker and one stamp. I colored in just a portion of the image and added a little until I had the entire image. I wanted the card to show the progression of someone falling in love.
Well, enough rambling already...get online and order the kit! You know you can't wait to play with it! Happy Valentine's Day! ----- I mean, Merry Christmas!!! LOL!

So very sweet...So very loved

I just can't help myself. I have had this stack of pictures ready to scrap for about a month and now I'm finally getting them scrapped! Soon I'll be up to June!
I love the Bella Rose paper. Full of weetness...just like my two sweeties! I used an old set that I just can't get rid of - So Very. Add a few scraps from another page, a few buttons from my stash, and another one hits the album!

I like to be with you

Yes, I'm still playing away on my snow day. Or, finally getting some pages scrapped - they're only from May! We went hiking near the Red River Gorge this May and just loved our hike. The pictures are so vibrant and green - full of life from the spring. I thought the Urban Garden paper coordinated perfectly.
I like the sentiment from the Greatest Moments rub-ons that said, "I like being with you." I thought I'd blow the dust off of some of my old eyelets and put my Crop-a-dile to work. That thing is amazing! It makes eyelet setting so quick! I don't know why I didn't buy it sooner...

Sweet moments

Today is a snow day - well, actually ice day...either way, it means playtime for me! I mean...a day to get some work done. Scrapbooking counts as work...doesn't it?!?!?!?

I just loved these pictures of Halleigh playing Ring around the Rosie with my parents. They always give in - even if they don't fall down at the end!

Finally! Another post...

No...I haven't stopped blogging! I have been sick with the stomach bug

and busy being a mommy! I finally got this layout done! I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to do with it for about a week! I decided to just take lots of silly photos and put them together. Who can resist sweet pictures like these?

Cards for Soldiers

Today at our club meeting, we all made an extra card to send to some of our recovering soldiers in our nation. Here is the card we made - one for ourselves and one for a soldier.
It was a very simple card that I actually made out of scraps from other projects! I took a transparency sheet (like you use on an overhead projector) and stamped snowflakes using Staz-on Opaque White ink. Then we stamped a snowflake on the brown paper and cut out the circle to anchor the transparency down. I thought it was simple, but beautiful!

New stamp sets!!!

I got my new stamps in yesterday - just in time to finish the designs on a few more cards for tonights Christmas card Stamp a Stack. The card above and below are both from the Punch Pals set. As you can see, I used 3 punches on the card above - I just love how punches make the work go so quickly!
Here I used the Punch Pals set again, except I had to add a little shine. The snowy hills and snowman are colored with Pearl-Ex (they're shinier in person!). I had to add just a little glitter on my tree and holly.

I got the idea for this card on www.splitcoaststampers.com - one of my favorite websites! I loved the scallop square idea, so I added a ribbon band and buttons at the bottom. You can't see it from the picture, but the red strip is actually the inside of the card - I just cut off the bottom part of the top layer of the card so you could see into it.

And, yet another design that www.splitcoaststampers.com inspired me to create. I love the simplicity and elegance of this idea for a card. I ran the ribbon through just like a belt and added an eyelet with my wonderful Crop-a-dile! I love that tool!

Snow Swirled Greetings

Here is another Christmas card I made u

sing the Snow Swirled set. The color combo that I used was Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Green Galore. At the bottom is the Seasons Greetings in Real Red , but you can't see it very well in the picture.
