Sheltering Tree on Soft Sky

DSCF7574

I saw a similar card to this on Pinterest somewhere (if it was your website, feel free to tag yourself in the comments and I will give you credit!)  I just loved the ability to create so much texture on one layer of paper!  Completely mailable!  I love how you can just use colors and stamps and create a lovely visual scene!

DSCF7576

Of course, you need something inside, as well!  Here’s a little matching tree.

Hooray!

DSCF7578

I love this sunburst mask!!!!  I couldn’t wait to get this mask and use it with the spritzer!  In love!!

Now, the rest of the card went together so easily, I decided to use the same format for my club – it is a good unisex card that could be really used for any occasion.  Since there weren’t enough pieces for my club members, my son helped me cut out all of the pieces using the Balloon Framelits.  He just turned 3 and he absolutely loves turning the handle and getting all the pieces at the end of the Big Shot!  I think the banner was a leftover piece from a Paper Pumpkin kit.

Hooray it’s Your Day Card #2

DSCF7573

Here is the second card that I made from the Hooray It’s Your Day project kit.  This is a scalloped mask that I used for the pink design on the card.  I mix several drops of Melon Mambo with rubbing alcohol for the spritzer – super easy and it dries really fast.

I followed the design as it was listed other than changing the color.  It came together so quickly!  I love the ease of the kit and the cute design for all the birthday parties we end up going to!

Hooray It’s Your Day card

DSCF7571

I recently purchased the Hooray It’s Your Day card kit and matching stamp set.  I mostly just wanted the masks in the kit!  I just love the spritzing and masking trend that makes adding color so easy.

On this particular card, the front has an emboss resist ready to create a design.  I decided I didn’t really care for the green/yellow look, so I stuck with Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight re-inkers in my spritzers.  It made for a fun and delightful card for Halleigh’s friend who just had a birthday party!

Here was the inside of the card – I just adore the gift card holder!  Super easy to create – already cut and scored for you!

Blendabilities Update

Sadly, Blendabilities have been discontinued for Stampin’ Up.  Unfortunately, the manufacturer was experiencing a 30% fail rate with the markers, including a fail rate of up to 30% before the markers even arrived at Stampin’ Up!  While this product success rate is completely unacceptable, I am still saddened to see such a terrific product become discontinued.  I sincerely believe Stampin’ Up has seen how much the customer and demonstrator base has loved the markers.  I think they will probably look into another similar product for the future, but for now, they are discontinued.

DSCF7558

That being said, I still love playing with my Blendabilities and the way they look on my cards!  This was my favorite card out of all the cards I made Tuesday with this stamp set.

I colored the image with my Blendabilities.  That’s it!  Simple and just simply gorgeous.  (Sniff, sniff!)

Ink:  Memento Black, Blendabilities – Calypso Coral, Blush, Colorless blender, Bronze, Wild Wasabi

Watercolor indescribable gift

DSCF7559

This card uses a similar technique from yesterday.  The difference in this card is that I used my markers to add the color first.  I would color the outline of the flowers first.  After a bit of color had been added, I washed over the flower, leaf or branch with my Aqua Painter.  Again, you have to let the paper dry really well before you can adhere it to your card base.

This technique honestly looked awful when I first completed it.  I really got close to just trashing it altogether.  Then I remembered that I have had several watercolor projects that look much better once they are dry.  So, while this is by far no masterpiece, I was pleased with the result once it dried and glad I didn’t just throw it all away!

Watercolor wash

DSCF7557

In this version of the stamp set Indescribable Gift, I took inspiration from Papercrafter’s Library to create a watercolor wash.  It was pretty easy to do and has a lovely look to it.

First I embossed the image onto some watercolor paper.  Next, I poured some Calypso Coral re-inker into the top of my inkpad.  I lifted the color with my Aquapainter and just spread water and re-inker all over the card.  Literally….that’s it!  You just have to wait for a while to let it dry.

Indescribable Gift

DSCF7556

This week I am going to share some cards I made yesterday using the lovely Easter stamp set Indescribably Yours.  I was intrigued not just by the beauty of the flowers in the stamp set, but also by the opportunity to color it with different media and various techniques.

I begin with a super quick and easy coloring technique.  Sponge Daubers!

All I did to color this image was dab my sponge daubers into Crisp Cantaloupe and Pear Pizzazz ink.  You just dab a bit of ink onto the flowers until you are happy with the result.  It really can’t get any easier than that!

Happy Dirtday!

DSCF7522

So we have another birthday party coming up this month.  It is sneaking up on us!  I used a retired stamp set, I Dig You, to create this card.

I always start with my retired items and then go to the new and current items when I am making 17 invitations!

The first card features the retired Halloween paper from this past holiday catalogue.

DSCF7523

Here is the same card using current products.  The Hello Honey paper here is embossed with the triangles embossing folder.  The Tangelo Twist strip is ink sponged onto the Irresistably Yours DSP that is available through Sale-a-Bration.  Finally, I just thought I would try some chalkboard paper for my little highway strip.

The inside of the card is made using My Digital Studio.  (Information is jumbled to protect privacy).

Stamps:  I Dig You

Ink:  Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Basic Grey, Memento Black

Paper:  Basic Black, Hello Honey, Irresistably Yours DSP, Whisper White, Retired DSP, Chalkboard Paper

Accessories:  White Chalk ink pen, Sponges, Candy Dots (Brights & neutrals), 1” punch, 3/4” punch, My Digital Studio

Lotus Blossom in blue

DSCF7521

I was inspired to create this card by another blog I like to read, Understand Blue.

I stuck with the plain white background and stamp the Lotus Blossom stamp in Turquoise, Pacific Point and Basic Black.  I finished with a sentiment embossed in gold.  Super pretty and really easy!

Stamps:  Lotus Blossom, Hello Life

Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Memento Black, VersaMark

Theme and Variations using a mask

DSCF7502

So at club the other day I wanted to use the Artisan Embellishment kit.  I loved all the pretties in the kit including the laser die cut rose image.  Unfortunately, there are only 2 die cuts, so to make it last longer I decided to use it as a mask.

IMG_4360

I took a few of the other masks that are in the big catalogue to use for a little variety.  So, here are some variations on the original card.  I love how the cards look using hearts and polka dots!

Big Day card

DSCF7501

Here is a super quick card I put together last night.

First I stamped the main image in Staz On black ink.  I colored the image with a Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana marker.

Next, I cut a strip of the Sale-a-bration Irresistably Yours DSP and sponged it with Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush ink.  I wrapped a small piece of Coastal Cabana ribbon around that and adhered it to the card front.

That’s it!  Quick and Easy!

Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush

Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Irresistably Yours DSP

Amazingly Amazing Card

DSCF7444

I made this card using the Artisan Embellishment kit from the Occasions catalogue.  I love the possibilities with these kits – they are full of frilly pretties!

Here are the steps to make this card.

Dimensions:

Crumb Cake Cardstock – 4 1/4” x 11”

Whisper White Cardstock- 3 1/4” X 4 1/4”

SCRAP Whisper White Cardstock - 2" x 3"

Accessories:

Artisan Embellishment Kit – Sahara Sand die cut card,  1/2 of a doily, Rose Red lace cut 3 1/4” long, and Blushing Bride rosette trim – 4 roses long

Supplies:

Painted Petals Stamp Set

Pool Party Ink Pad

Baked Brown Sugar Ink Pad

Rose Red Ink Pad

Sponge Daubers

Chalk Talk Framelits

Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Texture Boutique

Instructions:

1. Fold the Crumb Cake Cardstock in half with a Bone Folder.

2. Run the top side of the Crumb Cake Cardstock through the Texture Boutique using the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

3. Using sponge daubers, sponge areas of each color of ink onto the Whisper White Cardstock 3 1/4” X 4 1/4” piece.  I started with spots of Pool Party, filled in some of the empty spots with Baked Brown Sugar and filled the remaining areas with Rose Red.

4. Using Tombow Mono Adhesive, adhere the 3” X 4” Sahara Sand die cut card from the kit onto the sponged cardstock.

5.  Cut a piece of the doily and adhere to the lower left side of the card.

6.  Adhere the sponged piece to the lower right corner of the card.

7.  Adhere the 3 1/4” piece of Rose Red lace to the left side of the Whisper White sponged paper.

8.  Adhere the Blushing Bride rosette trim just on top of the Rose Red lace.

9.  Stamp sentiment in Rose Red ink on scrap of Whisper White paper.

10.  Cut sentiment out using Chalk Talk framelits and adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Best Day Ever

DSCF7449

I love this spunky little flower stamp in the Best Day Ever Sale-a-bration stamp set.

For this card I used the Brights Collection.  We will be making this card during our stamp club tomorrow.  It will be held at the Pulaski County Public Library.

Overall, the card is super easy – you just stamp the flower in different colors and add a candy dot to the center!  To help with using so many colors, keep a baby wipe to wipe the stamp off after each color – that helps keep the colors from getting mixed up in the stamp pads!

Stamps:  Best Day Ever

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red

Paper:  Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Accessories:  Candy Dots Brights

Big Day meets Artisan Embellishment kit!

DSCF7447

I was playing with the Artisan Embellishment kit some more when I made this card.

I used a scrap of Stacked with Love DSP to make a pennant.  After that I just layered some pieces of the artisan kit on top – a doily (which is smaller than the regular doilies in the catalogue) and some Rose Red lace ribbon.  I almost forgot that I sponged my doily with Pink Pirouette ink.

I used another scrap for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Big Day Sale-a-bration stamp set.  I colored it with a Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write marker.

You may notice those pearls are pink – I colored them with the Pink Pirouette Blendabilities marker.  I just love to do that – it is so easy and quick – and it looks so pretty!

Stamps:  Big Day

Ink:  Rose Red, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette Blendabilities

You warm my heart

DSCF7448

I saw this card the other day and thought it was just sweet!  I loved the hearts in the tree with the sentiment.  I love this new stamp set, Sheltering Tree!  It is so versatile!

Not much to say about this card – it is super simple and easy!

Stamps:  Sheltering Tree

Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo
