Paper Pumpkin: September Wahoo

I made these projects a while back, but I am just now getting around to sharing the finished projects.  I made all of the above projects using the Wahoo September Paper Pumpkin kit. 

Here is the card that the original project idea gave in the photo.  I like this card pretty well.

Now….being the scrappy person I am, I decided I wanted to use mine to create a scrapbook page.  I was inspired to create this page based on another project I saw by Rachel Tessman.  I loved her idea of using the target as a spider web instead!  Plus, I loved matching the googly eyes on my stamps to the googly eyes on Halleigh’s spider crown and Owen’s monster face.

If you look really closely you will see that this is just the card flattened out and used as a photo mat here.

I was inspired by some other pinterest project to create this card using my Expressions hostess set and one of the photopolymer stamp sets.

Finally, I completely cased this adorable idea I saw on the My Paper Pumpkin Challenge site.  I LOVED this idea!  How cute is this?

I can’t wait for the next Paper Pumpkin to come in the mail….it should be here this weekend!!!

I’m baaaack!!!!

Did you miss me?  Probably not, I would guess!  Every year from mid-October until about Veteran’s Day my life gets a little on the hectic side to say the least.  I spend every waking moment working my tail end off for school, programs, treat bags, and birthday parties!  I have been scrapping and cardmaking – quite a bit, actually, I just have literally not sat down at the computer long enough to blog about anything!

Needless to say, it’s time for me to relax a bit and share some of my fun creations!  I’ll start first with a few of the creations from our last club meeting.

I’ll start first with Hannah – she made this gorgeous shadow frame for someone for their birthday.  I absolutely love it.

1st Field Trip scrapbook page

Here is the page we will be making for our next scrapbook club this month.  We will be creating this page above – you will notice that I left a large amount of empty space for a title (or more pictures). 

I used the Show and Tell photopolymer stamps for this layout.  I also used the Chalk Talk framelit to create a tag for journaling.

You will notice the flowers on the corner – my daughter and I made these with the Simply Pressed clay and clay molds.  We created a glaze using Crystal Effects, Real Red re-inker, and Dazzling Diamonds to create a glaze with which we painted the flowers.  They are really pretty in real life!

Here is the extra optional page I made to go with the layout.  I used an 8X10 photo I had from my daughter’s trip to the pumpkin patch – I loved this picture!

I made a large photo corner for the top and the chevron punch to create accents for the bottom.  I used a few more Show and Tell photopolymer stamps for this layout.

Fall Foliage Divided Protector page

I made this page last weekend – inspired by the current changing of the leaves!

I used the divided page protectors that are so popular with Project Life albums right now.  Sometimes these pages are a breeze, other times, like this particular layout, they are just as labor intensive as any other page.

One of the reasons this page was labor intensive, was because I was inspired to create the accents using the Best of Autumn stamp set.  The images in this stamp set are so great for coloring!  In fact, I ended up coloring these images with my Copic markers.  I hadn’t gotten them out in a while and the size of the images was just right for lots of coloring.

Here is the tree – I mounted it on a scallop circle punch so it would stand out on the bottom corner.  I was really pleased with the way this layout turned out in the end!

And now, I think we shall take a trip to the pumpkin patch!

I like big bows!

I like big bows and I cannot lie! Hee hee!  If you are lover of old school hip hop, you know what I mean! 

I CASEd this gorgeous idea for a card from Julie Davison, another SU demonstrator.  I loved her idea for this card, so I just took the DSP that I had around my desk and changed up the colors to match the Sweater Weather DSP.

Isn’t it pretty?!  I just love this card!  I think it is like a present in itself.  It needs no envelope as it is all you need!

The best part is the inside – you can put a gift card in there instead of a sentiment.  Now, honestly, I think it tends to stick a little when you pull it out and push it back in.  Could be user error (probably my fault!), could be that it would move better with about 1/4” less on the width. 

So, needless to say, I’m trying to decide if this is too intense for a club card….It was really cute!  I might do one for a club card this month.  If you are in the club, let me know what you think!

Some challenge projects

Well, picture issues are nearly driving me crazy this week!  I had pictures saved and haven’t been able to get my external hard drive to be recognized by the computer.  Argh!  Anyway, at our last club meeting we had a voluntary challenge – basically, it was make something with your SU supplies and share it with everyone.   

Disclaimer:  I did a terrible job of remembering to get all of the pictures of projects, so these are just two of the projects shared…..there were more, so if I didn’t get a picture of your project, I’ll be happy to share it (eventually!) if you want to send me a picture!!!

So, this first picture is a post-it note holder created by Dorothy G. from Russell Springs.  I thought this was an ingenious and wonderfully useful project!  I love how she used the window framelits and Secret Garden stamp set.  If you only knew how many post it notes I go through all the time, you would know how useful this really is for me!!!!!

This next project is just one of the projects created by Hannah V. , of Somerset.  She used the Fancy Favor diecut and Circle Circus stamp set to decorate the  bag.  Next, she sponged on the lacy tape for the bottom.  Finally, she added a few sentiments with the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and framelit.  This is just a perfect size for a gift card, don’t you think!?

A Camera….for a few days….

Well, the camera was evidently foggy for these pictures.  I also found a set of grey dots in every single picture, so I had to return the camera today.  Needless to say, I got to use a camera for a couple of days! 

Here are a few cards I made playing with the circle flip card thinlit.

I used the Truly Grateful stamp set and the Sweater Weather DSP for these cards.

I love that the set of thinlits come with matching words and symbols that can be used to help make the card.

Here is another card I made using some retired DSP and the Crazy, Mixed-Up Love stamp set – notice the xoxo?  They also come with the thinlits.

I also love how the 2 1/2 inch circle punch fits perfectly in the center of the circle.

This variation was made by my friend and stamping queen, Lori.
